Features

The Datatex NOW Production module provides control, scheduling, and traceability across textile and garment manufacturing operations.
It supports a wide range of processes, including spinning, weaving, dyeing, processing, garmenting, lamination, texturizing, printing, and trading, enabling coordinated production management across the textile supply chain.

What is the Production module?

The Production module manages production execution within NOW ERP by controlling production demands, production orders, and shop-floor activities.
It supports detailed machine scheduling, material and capacity reservation, progress tracking, quality management, and cost control at different process and department levels.

How is production managed within the system?

The production model is built on two main entities:

Production Demand

Generated automatically by the NOW Planning module, Production Demand supports detailed machine scheduling and allows for material and capacity reservation.

Production Order

Production Orders group jobs according to department and process needs. They enable tracking, quality control, and accurate booking of materials and capacity throughout production.

Key features of the Production module

Manual or automatic generation of production demands (via planning run)

Production order creation with grouped steps or demands

Real-time production progress and stoppage recording

Material issue, return, and warehouse receipt

External order handling and subcontractor tracking

Import of standard production data

Full production analysis and reporting

Integration with the CAMS system for shop-floor data collection

Quality and waste control

Detailed actual cost calculation and variance control

Advanced production capabilities

Dynamic BOM and routing
Supports multiple BOMs for costing, production, or planning, including customer-specific or alternative components.

Smart material requirements
Calculates required inputs while considering expected waste, shrinkage, or yield variations.

Work in progress (WIP) visibility
Forward and backward scheduling, load analysis, and negative availability checks.

Multi-step operations
Supports parallel and serial operations, overlapping steps, and partial progress tracking.

External and subcontracting support
Manages outside processing, pricing, and customer-owned materials.

Management of specific production entities
Supports cones, beams, rolls, bundles, and similar entities.

Full traceability
Enables forward and backward traceability across all production stages.
